Keys to Influencer Marketing Campaigns

Influencer marketing has suddenly become a central pillar of many marketing agencies. Influencers are viewed as authentic and trusted, and can bring many new customers to a brand. As marketers consider setting out on an influencer marketing campaign, there are certain best practices that they must be sure to follow.

First and foremost, as with any endeavor, research is an absolute necessity. When considering influencers, marketers need to gather as much information as possible to see if a given influencer is likely to endorse their brand. It is also important to consider the numbers and demographics of their follow ups, and if the potential ROI is worth it.

Another key thing for marketers to do is to interact with influencers on social media. Anyone who is deemed a market influencer got to that point in large part because of their following on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Interacting with them on their platforms will serve to get them more engaged with the brand. It is important to be careful, however: too much sharing will seem annoying and shallow. Once a week is the perfect amount of time to interact with a new contact.

Guest posting can also be a huge asset when trying to establish market influence. Getting the opportunity to post your thoughts on another influencer’s blog serves several positive purposes. First, it establishes a relationship with that influencer. It also gets your words in front of a larger audience, and increases the likelihood that more people will look for other content you have created on your own blog.

The field of influencer marketing is still evolving and changing. However, as with any field, there are absolutely practices that are optimal for success. Following these best practices will allow influencer marketing campaigns to sore to new heights.
