SocialMediaToday compiled several predictions as to what could come out of LinkedIn for 2018 and with less than two weeks until the New Year; it’s the perfect time to see what may be in store.
LinkedIn has been known for professional connections, a way to link with others in similar fields, and for some, find a better job. But, in case you missed it, LinkedIn was acquired by Microsoft this year with minimal change.
2018 will be the year Microsoft enhances LinkedIn for the 500 million members. Added was Talent Insights to further assist employers find talent through enhanced data on potential candidates. The goal is to bring employers and potential employees together based on shared talents and commonalities.
Additionally, a video forum is becoming a possibility to keep up with other popular social networks like Facebook and Instagram, according to LinkedIn CEO, Jeff Weiner. The company may fund exclusive and personal content, business-focused programming geared to the audience. It could become a reality by the end of 2018 so keep an eye out.
How is content seemingly tailored to your interests and who you are and what you want? Algorithms are implemented to make sure the content is relevant. The company is now using machine learning, as well. Another strategic move is the LinkedIn Learning platform which will serve as a career guide for job seekers.
This tool will also offer advice to hopefully show seekers how they can find their ideal job position. It will also provide education options while developing LinkedIn’s training program, LinkedIn Learning.
As of now, LinkedIn is still poised to be the professional tool of choice for 2018 and the foreseeable future.
